Armineh Arakelian

Politist, International lawyer, Diplomat, Independent Rights Defender, the Founder of the Institute for Democracy and Human Rights and the Founder of the political Movement for Sovereign Armenia- MFSA. She has received two MAs and one DESS degrees from Sorbonne-Paris I University and Rene Descartes University in Paris, France in Political Science - International Relations and International Law. She has over 20 years of experience in the fields of rights promotion and protection, international development, democratic State-building and civil society development. She has worked extensively with NGOs and international inter-governmental organizations including the UN, International IDEA and the European Union in the Middle East, Europe, the South Caucasus , Africa. As the Head of the Human Rights Promotion Section, she cooperated with the European Union and UN High Commissioner for Human Rights in Rwanda and Great Lakes region for a number of years following the 1994 genocide in Rwanda.
